Silk noil ghicha is a rustic, textured fabric made from leftover or recycled silk waste fibers and unevenly spun wild silk threads.
What is Silk Noil?
Silk noil—also called raw silk—is created from the short, broken staple fibers left over during the carding and combing of spun silk.
It has a matte finish, a slightly rough or nubby texture, and a soft, cotton-like feel rather than a slippery sheen.
It is a sustainable, eco-friendly material that breathes well and regulates temperature.
Ghicha silk is a type of coarse yarn reeled from pierced or waste wild silk cocoons (such as Tussar, Muga, or Eri) in India.

Artisans hand-spin these un-reeled fibers without standardizing the thickness, giving the yarn a thick-and-thin character.
Fabrics woven from ghicha feature an organic, raw look with uneven slubs and a dry hand-feel that softens over time.
